2008 Zone 12 Finals Horse Show

This year's Zone Finals Horse Show will be a week earlier than ususal, Saturday, September 6 at William Clark Chamberlin Equestrian Center, Anchorage. More information will be available soon. However, the format will be very similar to the 2007 show (see background below).

2007 Zone 12 Finals Horse Show

The 2007 Zone 12 Finals Horse Show took place Saturday, September 15 at William Clark Chamberlin Equestrian Center, Anchorage.

Here are the complete results of the show.

The 2007 Finals competition capped the season for hunter-jumper competitors in Zone 12. This year's Zone 12 Finals offered $3,750 in prize money, and Solstice Saddlery provided a bridle and show gloves for the champion of the Children's Hunter division.

All courses for the 2007 Zone Finals are posted here.

Fence Decorating Contest

Again for 2007, barns were invited to participate in the Zone Final contest for the best-decorated fence. Zone Finals judge Sharon Stewart-Wells chose Kismet Equestrians' Mardi Gras themed jump as the winny entry. Kismit not only gets bragging rights, it will also receive a photograph of the winning jump, and the photograph will appear in next year's prize list. Meantime, we're still congratulating Forever Young's winning entry for 2006, a Western-themed oxer that was used in both hunter and jumper courses. That jump is featured on the cover of our 2007 prize list. Zone 12 thanks all barns who participated in our 2007 contest.

Special Points!

For five hunter divisions (Junior, Amateur Owner, Children's, Adult Amateur, and Pony Hunters), all three Hunter Classics, and all of our jumper classes (marked with an asterisk in the class list below), the Finals also mean a chance to earn extra U.S. Equestrian Federation Horse of the Year zone points under USEF GR936:

Federation Zone Horse of the Year Points. Special points will be given in all classes held during Zone Final competitions provided the Federation has a current zone award for that section/division. Special points are as follows: 30 for first place or champion; 20 points for second place or reserve champion; 15 for third; 10 for fourth; 9 for fifth; 8 for sixth. Jumper classes will receive the above-mentioned points as well regardless of whether prize money is offered.
